We Are Passionate About Making Delicious Farmstead Cheese!
We make small batches of artisan cheese using our fresh, raw farmstead milk. We mostly make semi-hard cheeses such as Cheddar, Colby, Gouda, and Jack, but we also make delicious cow’s milk feta, cream cheese, butter, and Greek yogurt. We believe in the health benefits of hormone- and antibiotic-free raw milk from non-GMO fed cows, which you can read more about here. If you are interested in tasting and obtaining cheese made from fresh raw cow’s milk for your own family, please read about our Herd Share Program.
We can’t legally sell cheese per Tennessee law, but we have a dream that some day we can become a licensed Grade A Dairy and then a licensed facility for manufacturing cheese with our own farmstead milk. We know that we need to raise a lot of money to redesign the milking parlor to meet FDA licensing requirements, so until then, only our Herd Share Program members can legally enjoy the fruits of our labor. Herd Share Program members can pay our labor to process their share of milk into cheese and other dairy products, such as butter, buttermilk, cream cheese, and yogurt. We teach homesteading skills classes to subsidize costs for running the farm, but are also setting aside a portion of that income to help with local needs in our community.
We began our craft in the Summer of 2013 and have expanded the operation into it’s own building now! Our new cheese making kitchen with a covered porch area doubles as a teaching classroom, located here on the farm, near our milking parlor. Doing what we love and what we are passionate about, we are working to become certified master cheesemakers and hope to one day make our delicious farmstead cheese available to the public. In the meantime…support us through our Homesteading Classes!
